Macfarlane Wilder have joined forces with Auket Fitzroy Robinson to deliver a world class business park masterplan on a 100 acres site outside Cardiff for the consortia of Westgate Park Ltd and the Welsh Assembly Government's Department of Enterprise Innovation and Networks. The site, at junction 33 of the M4 Motorway, is the destination for the new 100,000 m² business park which will create up to 8,000 high quality jobs. A new regional transport hub will maximize the parks accessibility in a sustainable way as well as transforming patterns throughout Cardiff and the region as a whole.
The project brief called for landscape-led masterplan and Macfarlane Wilder was successful at winning this commission. The importance of the landscape determining the development strategy allowed Macfarlane Wilder to demonstrate the breadth of skills in sustainable landscape and drainage design. An application was submitted in December 2006.
