The Kingspan Lighthouse sets new standards in terms of energy efficiency and sustainable design in offsite construction technology and is the first building to receive a six star rating under the new Code for Sustainable Homes. Macfarlane Wilder were responsible for producing a landscape that would deliver the maximum credits for biodiversity, sustainable drainage, rainwater harvesting, and sustainable materials. The Innovation Park designed by Macfarlane Wilder for the Building Research Establishment (BRE) is a benchmark for sustainable landscape design, and is the first scheme in the UK to be assessed under the new Code for Sustainable Homes.
